C & F Restaurant
If you’re looking for good, honest, home-made Caribbean
food, served in good quantities and with no fuss – then the C & F Restaurant in
Road Town is the place to go.

The C & F restaurant has been there for years – tucked away in the
hillside of Purcell Estate in Road Town, on a side street past the Moorings and Riteway – and the fact that there’s often a wait for a table says everything you
need to know. |
Who are Clarence and Florena of C & F Restaurant?
Clarence was a well-known barbecue cook on the island and
Florena had a small grocery store when they decided to open the C & F
Restaurant. Their intentions are to serve huge portions of fantastic West
Indian food, at reasonable prices, in a friendly environment. They hit the mark
on all three points. The décor of the restaurant is in keeping with its homey
ambiance – totally unpretentious. The service is attentive and friendly and
you’ll find that nothing phases the staff at all; they know that it’s the food
people come here for and are keen to supply it!
So, let’s concentrate on the fabulous fare on offer at C
& Fs. The fresh local fish is always popular – lots of people love the
grilled swordfish. The lobster, the chicken, the curries, the fried plantains –
all of these are sure to delight. Everyone who tries the BBQ ribs enthuses
about them - tender spare ribs which fall off the bone, without being
overcooked, and with a spicy, tangy sauce and a baked potato crisped to
perfection. Just a little word of warning about the sauces, though; some of
them can be extra fiery, so you’d best have a glass of rum handy to help put the
fire out.
If you’re a hungry vacationer or a sailor fresh in from an
invigorating sea, then you can be sure that your appetite is going to meet its
match at the C & F Restaurant.
Some people suggest that, when you visit C & Fs, you only
order half the food you think you’ll want, because the portions are so vast.
That’s a possibility. Me? I just make sure I don’t eat for several hours
before I go there, have a long walk to work up an appetite – and then try and
eat until I drop. It’s a tactic I intend to continue.
