Towanda is located in Belmont at West End, Tortola, and
it's one of the finest homes on the island. With unique amenities like the
waterfall shower and a comfortable, private feel for two guests or six, you'll
find this villa to be the perfect centerpiece of a relaxing vacation, or a
honeymoon home you will never want to leave. It's recommended that you rent a four-wheel drive vehicle
when you stay at Towanda, as the road back to it is remote and steep. Once you
get there, you'll see it's worth the drive. This villa has one of the best views
of the ocean of any of the homes on Tortola. The house itself is beautifully
decorated, but its vivid island colors and modern furnishings pale next to the
natural beauty that is its true draw. Towanda's Amenities Towanda offers three bedroom suites, a king and two queens,
with bathrooms and outdoor showers. There's also a waterfall shower outside,
perfect for a quick cooldown. The pool is narrow, but right on the edge of the
terrace where you can look down through the mountainside greenery to the ocean
below. The gourmet kitchen serves an al fresco dining area and an
indoor dining area, or you can use the Weber gas grill for outdoor cooking. All
three bedrooms have private balconies, with the upstairs queen bedroom the most
convenient to the waterfall shower. Towanda's décor is eclectic, with Asian and
North African styles as well as original art, and you can take advantage of the
wi-fi and fax to remain connected to the outside world if you wish. A good music
and movie library are provided as well, or you can take advantage of the
provided cable television. Towanda can welcome up to six guests, including children.
Maid service is provided for one day a week during the off season, two days a
week during peak seasons. Smoking is permitted only outside. There is also a
laundry for guest use only. If you stay over the Christmas season, you'll need
to rent for a minimum of 14 nights. Why Towanda? This villa is set well back in the jungle, but overlooks
the ocean and beaches; it's remote enough to be truly private, but close to the
things you want to do. From the outside dining area and most of the veranda, you
have a wonderful view of the island sunsets. Though the home's multiple
pavilions are designed for up to six people, it's just as comfortable a home for
a lone couple to enjoy. Much of the villa can be opened up to the ocean breezes,
allowing the outdoors inside. Towanda is convenient to many West End beaches, with both Long Bay and Smuggler's Cove about a five minute drive away and Apple Bay and Soper's Hole also conveniently close. Both these communities also have excellent restaurants and shops as well, and the ferry at Long Bay goes to Virgin Gorda.
