Brandywine Bay Restaurant

The Brandywine Bay Restaurant has an unfair advantage over every other restaurant on Tortola, even before you think about the food.

Sitting in a cobblestone garden terrace, on a hill overlooking Sir Francis Drake Channel, with a hint of a warm breeze caressing your cheek, whilst delighting in an indescribable BVI sunset, you could almost be forgiven for thinking that the food wasn’t important. Not for long!

The cuisine at the Brandywine Bay Restaurant, incredibly, is as memorable as the setting. So, enjoy your aperitif on the terrace - but be prepared for a gastronomic experience to delight the senses.

Brandywine Bay Menu

There is no fixed menu at the Brandywine Bay as it changes on a daily basis.  What never changes, though, is the quality.  The owner, also the chef, is Italian born Davide Pugliese, who was taught to cook by his mother – and what a teacher she must have been!  Davide will introduce you to the menu, handwritten on a portable white board, and his elaboration on the details of the food preparation will in itself be a delight.

Appetizers such as beef or vegetarian carpaccio, grilled Portobello mushrooms, homemade mozzarella or mussels in sake are all prepared and presented with simple style and elegance.  Main courses might include porcini encrusted tuna, roast duck in mango sauce – the duck is crisp on the outside, moist on the inside, while the sauce is a chutney type that will take you to heaven and back, grilled veal or tortilloni di carne.  Using the freshest local fish, herbs and vegetables and highest quality imported ingredients, this blend of the best of the Caribbean and Florentine culinary traditions truly justifies the restaurant’s stunning reputation.

And when you have finished your succulent main course, there is genuine, homemade, wonderful tiramisu.  You might think you know all there is to know about tiramisu – but until you have tasted this one, you don’t.

Davide and his Australian wife, Cele, have created a restaurant that offers a five star service in an intimate, elegant setting.  Dining at the Brandywine Bay is an enchanting experience which will live with you long after your time in Tortola has finished.

The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday from 6.30 until 9.30 during the season, but it is definitely advisable to reserve your table, which can be done by phoning 284 4952301.

If you are sailing, there is safe anchorage in Brandywine Bay and the restaurant monitors VHF Channel 16 after 2 pm, so you can book ahead.  If you are driving here, it’s about 10 minutes from both Road Town and East End.  As befits a restaurant of this caliber, beachwear isn’t acceptable, the dress code being described as ‘casual elegant’.

If you want more information about the Brandywine Bay Restaurant, then their website is www.brandywinebay.com, where you will see even more to wet your appetite.

The perfect location.  The perfect meal.  You definitely won’t be disappointed with Brandywine Bay.
